Baby Born With Extra Foot
Surgery to remove a brain tumor from a 3-day-old Colorado boy turned up something “borderline unheard-of,” his doctors say: a foot. When the pediatric neurosurgeon operated Oct. 3 on Sam Esquibel, he saw a small foot, other half-formed appendages, and even intestines in the baby’s head, reports the Colorado Springs Gazette. All were removed, and Sam is back home and doing fine.
You show those pictures to the most experienced pediatric neurosurgeons in the world, and they've never seen anything like it. - Dr. Paul Grabb, pediatric neurosurgeon |

Hugh's the Man for Oscar Host
The selection is a marked departure for the Academy, which has typically relied on comics—Jon Stewart, Chris Rock and Ellen DeGeneres were the last three emcees—making this year's event more of an insider's job. (Sorry, Ricky Gervais.)
The likable 40-year-old X-Man is also the first host in years who could potentially find himself on the stage and at the podium, provided his Nicole Kidman-costarring, Baz Luhrmann-directed epic picks up some awards buzz.
And the Aussie has some key experience. As a three-time host of the Tony Awards, 2003-2005, he helped the Broadway kudosfest to some of its biggest ratings in years.

New Moon Rises Next November
Yesterday, you officially got a director, and today, you officially have a release date: New Moon will cross the horizon on November 20, 2009.
About a Boy's Chris Weitz directs the Twilight sequel and, oh yeah, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson return as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.
As of right now, the vampire and his mortal love will have several major movies to battle for box-office glory on that fateful day, the most challenging of which are Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr., and a Three Stooges flick written and directed by the Farrelly brothers.

Meet Ricky Martin's Twins
Born via surrogate in early August, Ricky Martin's 4-month-old twin boys make their debut in this week's issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.
A joyful Martin, 36, spoke candidly with PEOPLE at home in Puerto Rico about his desire to be a parent, the decision to seek the help of a surrogate, and juggling caring for twins -- he has no nanny!
Describe this time in your life.
"I'm so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life."
Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
"Adoption was one option, but it's complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, 'I'm going to jump into this with no fear.'"
Tell us about Valentino's and Matteo's personalities.
"Valentino loves to sleep. I call him 'Mr. Peace and Love' because he's so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!"
What is your philosophy on raising your sons?
"I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance."

Britney’s Sneaky Song Lyrics
Though her new album, “Circus” lacks a parental advisory warning for explicit lyrics, Britney Spears has found a clever way around using profane language on her track, “If You Seek Amy.” Say the title slowly and you may figure out what parents are so angry about. They lyrics in context are “All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy.”
“I was astonished and totally taken aback when I heard my five and seven-year-old kids walking around the house singing ' ----- ’,” says parent Leonie Barsenbach. “When I asked them what it was, they told me it was Britney Spears. I was horrified.”
Ms. Barsenbach claims she bought ‘Circus’ for her kids thinking it would be good, wholesome entertainment for them over the holidays. Maybe we’re wrong, but this woman seems completely out of touch. Britney hasn’t been anything close to a desirable role model for youngsters for years. Two albums ago she had a song called “Touch of My Hand” that was very explicitly about masturbating and there was no warning on that album either.
“What I dislike most about this is that they have bypassed my authority as a parent by going under the radar by changing the wording to avoid issuing a warning,” continues Ms. Barsenback. Are we wrong for thinking the trick was sort of funny and clever?

Britney Spears' Circus Act Tops the Charts
For the first time in more than five years, Britney topped the Billboard 200. Her new album Circus sold more than half a million copies for the week ended Sunday.
This gives Spears the second biggest female bow of the year, topping debut weeks by Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Janet Jackson and Beyoncé and only trailing Taylor Swift. Once the final retail receipts are counted, the album should claim the seventh biggest bow of 2008.
Back in October, Britney set the stage for her comeback when "Womanizer" became her first Hot 100 chart-topper since "…Baby One More Time" a decade ago. "Womanizer" also set the record for the biggest digital sales debut by a female artist (286,000 copies) since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking downloads in 2003.
"Imagine a year ago, did anyone think that today she would be able to come out with an album that would, not only just debut at No. 1, but also do half a million copies in its first week?" asks Billboard Senior Chart Manager Keith Caulfield. "It's surprising, but at the same time it's got to be pretty satisfying for Britney and for her record label."
And it's not just album and song sales soaring, because according to her website, "This tour is selling out like hot cakes! In response to overwhelming ticket sales, we have several more dates in cities including Los Angeles, London, Chicago, Toronto and Newark!"
So expect the circus to be coming to your town soon. >>From EOnline.com
A Great comeback for Britney. I really hope she won't be lost again at the middle of her Fame.
Sarah Palin blows off Oprah Winfrey
Now that the election is over, and extensive appearance invitations have been extended to Palin, she’s accepted many offers—but completely snubbed Oprah.
"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over,” Winfrey tells Extra. “I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me."
Is Oprah worried Palin will avoid the biggest daytime talk show forever? Not a chance. "Maybe she'll talk to me now that she has a [multi-million dollar] book deal," says Winfrey. Think Oprah will offer Palin up a spot in her book club?
Sarah Palin may be blowing off Oprah, but the host is determined to have some other, more prominent political figures back on her show. "There's always an open invitation for the president-elect and first lady," she says.

2008 Will Be Just a Second Longer
On Dec. 31 this year, your day will be just a second longer.
Like the more well-known time adjustment, the leap year, a "leap second" is tacked on to clocks every so often to keep them correct.
Earth's trip around the sun - our year with all its seasons - is about 365.2422 days long, which we round to 365 to keep things simpler. But every four years, we add 0.2422 x 4 days (that's about one day) at the end of the month of February (extending it from 28 to 29 days) to fix the calendar.
Likewise, a "leap second" is added on to our clocks every so often to keep them in synch with the somewhat unpredictable nature of our planet's rotation, the roughly 24-hour whirl that brings the sun into the sky each morning.
Historically, time was based on the mean rotation of the Earth relative to celestial bodies and the second was defined from this frame of reference. But the invention of atomic clocks brought about a definition of a second that is independent of the Earth's rotation and based on a regular signal emitted by electrons changing energy state within an atom.
In 1970, an international agreement established two timescales: one based on the rotation of the Earth and one based on atomic time.
The problem is that the Earth is very gradually slowing down, continually throwing the two timescales out of synch, so every so often, a "leap second" has to be tacked on to the atomic clock.
The International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service is the organization that monitors the difference in the two timescales and calls for leap seconds to be inserted or removed when necessary. Since 1972, leap seconds have been added at intervals varying from six months to seven years - the most recent was inserted on Dec. 31, 2005.
In the United States, the U.S. Naval Observatory and the National Institute of Standards and Technology keep time for the country. The Naval Observatory keeps the Department of Defense's Master Clock, an atomic clock located in Washington, D.C.
The new extra second will be added on the last day of this year at 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds Coordinated Universal Time - 6:59:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.
Mechanisms such as the Internet-based Network Time Protocol and the satellite-based Global Positioning System (GPS) depend on the accurate time kept by atomic clocks.
America's Top Pop Culture Obsessions
Teen star Miley Cyrus, pop diva Madonna, "The Dark Knight," hi-tech gadgets and Barack Obama were among America's top pop culture obsessions that turned into possessions in 2008, according to online market place eBay.
"When someone or something excites the American public, you immediately see a surge of related listings pop up on eBay," said Karen Bard, eBay's pop culture expert.
Cyrus, the 16-year-old star of Disney's "Hannah Montana" TV show, beat teen rivals like the Jonas Brothers and the cast of "High School Musical" hands down in terms of items sold on eBay, the Web site said in a survey of hot items in 2008.
Some 223,139 "Hannah Montana" related-items, ranging from buttons, to clothes and posters, exchanged hands on the Web site during the year.
Britney Spears, emerging from another year of personal woes, proved popular with eBay buyers with 32,966 items sold.
But Spears was overshadowed by "Material Girl" Madonna, who turned 50 this year and also divorced second husband Guy Ritchie after months of rumors. Madonna memorabilia, albums and posters saw sales of 96,511 items.
In a historic presidential election year, Barack Obama was the clear front-runner on eBay as well as with U.S. voters, winning the November election and to become the first U.S. black president. The Web site saw an active trade in Obama posters, coins, action figures and even the odd lunchbox that led to sales of 111,546 Obama-related items.
Months of Obama-fever outstripped sales of Sarah Palin items (20,712) after the Alaska governor was named Republican vice-presidential candidate in September, sparking a rush in buyers for look-alike wigs, Palin's trademark glasses, autographed photos and even thong underwear.
Fans went batty for "The Dark Knight," the latest Batman movie, with 60,484 related items sold -- 18 times more than those of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
Olympic gold medal swimming champion Michael Phelps broke records in the pool and sparked a buying fever online that saw 13,350 Phelps-related items sold on eBay, the world's largest online marketplace.
But the hottest of all the pop culture trends was the Nintendo Wii, which saw a whopping 2.05 million related items including accessories and games sold on eBay, outstripping the Microsoft Xbox 360 (1.29 million items), Apple's new iPod Touch (281,361) and the iPhone 3G (212,837).
The data was based on eBay listings that included key words in the listing title across all categories from Jan 1-Oct 15, 2008.

Don't Say You Love Me
I've felt this all before
And every time you call
I've waited there as though you might not call at all
I know this face I'm wearing now
I've seen this in my eyes
And though it feels so great, I'm still afraid
That you'll be leaving anytime
We've done this once and then you closed the door
Don't let me fall again for nothing more
Don't say you love me unless forever
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away
I've caught myself smiling alone
Just thinking of your voice
And dreaming of your touch, is all too much
You know I don't have any choice
Don't say you love me unless forever
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away...
Yeah, yeah yeah
We've done this once and then you closed the door
Don't let me fall again for nothing more
Don't say you love me unless forever
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away
(Say you love me...)
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real, (make it real,) or take it all away
Take it all away, take it all away...

New JK Rowling book goes on sale around the world
Rowling launched "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" on Thursday with a tea party for 200 school children at the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh, where she lives.
The author is donating royalties from the book to a charity, which hopes it will raise millions to help vulnerable children.
Recession-hit booksellers hope the book _ a collection of five fables mentioned in Rowling's saga about boy wizard Harry Potter _ will give them a festive boost
"We expect it to come straight in at No. 1 and is very likely to be our No. 1 book this Christmas," said Jon Howells of Britain's Waterstone's book store chain. "It's in with a fighting chance of being the best-selling book of the year, even though there are only a few weeks to go.
"This is J.K. Rowling. None of the usual rules apply," he said.
"Beedle the Bard" is being published Thursday in more than 20 countries, with a global print run of almost 8 million. But is generating only a fraction of the fanfare that greeted the Potter novels.
Rowling is donating her royalties to the Children's High Level Group, a charity she co-founded to support institutionalized children in Eastern Europe. The book is published on behalf of the charity by Harry Potter's traditional publishers _ Scholastic in North America and Bloomsbury elsewhere.
Rowling, whose Harry Potter books have sold more than 400 million copies and been translated into 67 languages, wrote the Beedle tales after finishing "Deathly Hallows" last year.
One of the stories, "The Tale Of The Three Brothers," is recounted in "Deathly Hallows," in which the storybook helps Harry and his friends defeat evil Lord Voldemort.
Rowling has described "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" as a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books, calling it her goodbye to a world she lived in for 17 years.
The book was initially produced last year in an edition of seven handwritten copies. Six were given away by Rowling as gifts, and one was bought by Internet retailer Amazon at an auction for almost 2 million pounds ($3 million).
Rowling told the schoolchildren at the launch that she published the book after complaints from readers over the sale.
"There was quite a lot of high feeling from Harry Potter fans that only someone who had 2 million pounds could afford to read the book," she said. "I thought: 'fair point,' so I thought I'll publish it and then the charity can have that money too."
Rowling read a passage from the tales to her young audience, which was given free copies of book.
Amazon is printing 100,000 copies of a leather-bound collectors' edition priced at 50 pounds, or $100 in the United States.

Merry Christmas
Christmas itself represents a Holiday season that has taken on countless meanings all over this diverse country of ours; from snow covered hills to pink lights on palm trees, nativity scenes to peppermint pigs. Ebenezer Scrooge and The Grinch, as well as Miracle on 34th Street and It’s A Wonderful Life, all hold a special place in our hearts. Some of us may travel across the country during Christmas time, while others of us may simply travel across the street.
No matter what our Christmas traditions are, there is one very strong connection that we all share. Recent events in our country’s history, [9-11, Hurricane Katrina], remind us all of this connection and continue to strengthen that bond every day. This time of year we gather together with friends and family. As we gather, some of us may celebrate the birth of Christ, some of us may light candles on a Menorah, some of us may simply unwrap gifts with glee without a second thought. Yet there is no doubt, no question, that we all gather to celebrate each other.
We gather to celebrate life, and family, and those we love. We gather to enjoy good food, good conversation and good company. We reminisce about past holidays, remember those we love who are no longer with us, and plan for the future. We share photos, we share gifts, and we share laughs. At Christmas time we look for the innocent sparkle in our children’s eyes as we help them to create their own memories, and tuck them soundly into bed with a smile on their faces as ‘visions of sugar plums dance in their heads’.
No matter our age, our race, or our nationality; No matter our heritage, our upbringing, or our traditions; At Christmas time, we live, we laugh, and we love.

Britney: For the Record
The 90-minute documentary features an introspection of Spears' life over the the recent years, and her comeback to the music spotlight.
The first promotional trailer was posted exclusively on MTV.com on October 9, 2008. The promos then premiered on television on October 17, nationwide and October 20 worldwide. Main filming began on September 5, 2008 two days before Spears appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
"For the Record" was entirely shot in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California and New York during the third quarter of 2008. As of November 22, the film has received positive reviews from the media.
In the show, which airs on MTV Sunday at 10 p.m. ET, Britney questions her behavior over the last couple years and sheds some light onto what it's like to be her on a daily basis. "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know," she says.
"I don't think anyone can prepare themselves for what stardom brings. ... It didn't touch home with me, the whole fame thing, until I had a huge breakup, and I wanted to just ... stop," she continues. Sometimes it can get lonely, because you don't open the gate up that much. ... So I'm kind of stuck in this place, and it's just, 'How do you deal?' I just cope, and that's what I do, every day."
In the documentary — which premieres two days before the December 2 release of her new LP, Circus, — fans can get a glimpse of Spears' life as she prepares for the album's release, which includes photo shoots, dance rehearsals and time with her two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
"There's a lot people don't know about me that I want them to know," she said. "I've been through a lot the last two or three years. I've grown up, bigtime."
However, not all Spears' revelations are about her very public personal life over the last few years: She also talks about still loving her career, even after more than a decade in the business. "I recorded the album. I recorded a lot of songs and it's the process where the fun stuff starts to come," she said of Circus.
Spears also talks a bit about life under her conservatorship, which includes supervision by her dad Jamie Spears over her affairs. "I think it's too in control. If I wasn't under the restraints I'm under, I'd feel so liberated," she said. "When I tell them the way I feel, it's like they hear, but they're really not listening."
She added, "I never wanted to become one of those prisoner people. You're guarded. You have to be that way."
Britney's manager, Larry Rudolph, discussed the documentary at a screening in Los Angeles on Friday. "You see Britney in a light you're not used to seeing her in," he said. "She's intelligent, she's introspective, she's honest. By the end of the film you really understand who she is in a way that you just never imagined. ... It is so not a puff piece."

Get 'Em Before They're Gone Gadgets
Jittery manufacturers can be a boon for consumers. Mark-downs are likely, so expect big-screen HDTVs on many gift lists this holiday season. But there are some smaller gadgets that the people on your list will be hoping to see all tied up with red ribbon. Here's the word from the street.
Netbooks
Yes, we still need big honking laptop computers. But more popular this season will be the lightweight — and lower-priced — "netbooks." Prices start at $350. Acer and Asus has some of the snappiest models, but almost every manufacturer has an offering now in this category. Apple is still the holdout, but give Steve Jobs another year or so: He has hinted that he's watching how the category develops.
Flat-Screen Televisions
In February, the U.S. will shut off the old analog television signals — an event that will likely nudge more consumers to go digital. (Check out our full list of value televisions here.) One big-value seller: the sets from Vizio. The Vizio VO32L, for example, isn't packed with unnecessary features or luxury options; it's just a great, 720p high-definition television with an affordable $649 price tag.
Wii Fun and Games
The Wii is still expected to be the game console in hottest demand this holiday season; last year, stores were short on supply. (We advise buying ahead of the final mad holiday dash to the cash register.) Online sites have even emerged to help you find available players, including Nintendo Shopper. "Wii Fit" will continue to be a big seller, but music games should enjoy some popularity as well. "Guitar Hero World Tour," slated to debut on Oct. 26, will cost you $189.99 with a drum kit and other peripherals; pare down to just the game for the PS2 or Wii and you're out a mere $49.99. "Rock Band 2" ($59.99) came out in September and is getting strong marks. "Wii Music" ($50) has received more tentative reviews but may prove a worthwhile addition to the Wii collection of casual-gaming treats.
Global Positioning System Devices
Forget about that stack of dog-eared maps in your glovebox. GPS devices were a big seller last holiday season, and anyone who didn't get one last year will want one this year. There's a big range of prices and capabilities. Of notable interest is the Garmin 760 ($340.50). But for the cash-strapped the more modest — in price and abilities — TomTom 3-to-5-inch Portable Navigator ($180) would do just fine.
All Things Apple
Go ahead — count how many Apple devices you already have in your home. If the ratio is less than one device per person, figure that you'll be stopping in an Apple store during this holiday season for music devices, phones and computers. If you're stuck for stocking stuffers, there are always those little iPod "socks."
Camcorders
If moving pictures are more your speed, you can have your pick of camcorders, from upscale and precious to the stocking-stuffer category. On the high end, the Canon VIXIA HF100 flash-memory high-definition camcorder has received good marks. If you're counting dollars, you can't go wrong with a FlipCam, a big seller last year. And with good reason: The Flip Video Mino delivers remarkably good footage for a camera you can literally drop into a shirt pocket. Best of all are the designs: They're cuter than an iPod ($179.99).
XM and Sirius Radio
Even if you have GPS, you're not done pimping out your car yet. The Pioneer GEX-INNO2BK Portable XM Satellite Radio with MP3 capability ($139.99) can pivot between playing MP3 songs and XM radio. It's also portable, so you don't have to worry about leaving it alone at night.
Cameras
It wouldn't be a holiday without adding a camera to your shopping lists. Digital cameras have improved dramatically in the past few years. Want something you can stuff into a pocket? The Canon Powershot SD1100 IS ($159) comes in five colors. For serious shutterflies, there's the Canon EOS 50D. Your budget won't thank you though; it has a price tag of $1,399.99.
Digital Picture Frames
Once you have all those pictures, you need a place to show them off. Digital picture frames let you run through a collection of snaps, and there are plenty of options. Take a peek at lesser-known maker ViewSonic's DPX804WH ($159), which has a topnotch display, or, at the higher end, Kodak's EasyShare series (such as the W820 at $219.95), which connects neatly with your wi-fi network.
Video Storage
Blu-ray digital-storage systems were also hot at the end of last year, though sales of standalone Blu-ray players have cooled somewhat since last January. To get the best value for your money, buy a Sony Playstation 3 ($399.99), which can play your Blu-ray discs. Of course, just about any consumer electronics maker would be happy to sell you a standalone version.

Jack O'Lantern
People have been making jack o'lanterns at Halloween for centuries. The practice originated from an Irish myth about a man nicknamed "Stingy Jack." According to the story, Stingy Jack invited the Devil to have a drink with him. True to his name, Stingy Jack didn't want to pay for his drink, so he convinced the Devil to turn himself into a coin that Jack could use to buy their drinks. Once the Devil did so, Jack decided to keep the money and put it into his pocket next to a silver cross, which prevented the Devil from changing back into his original form. Jack eventually freed the Devil, under the condition that he would not bother Jack for one year and that, should Jack die, he would not claim his soul. The next year, Jack again tricked the Devil into climbing into a tree to pick a piece of fruit. While he was up in the tree, Jack carved a sign of the cross into the tree's bark so that the Devil could not come down until the Devil promised Jack not to bother him for ten more years.
Soon after, Jack died. As the legend goes, God would not allow such an unsavory figure into heaven. The Devil, upset by the trick Jack had played on him and keeping his word not to claim his soul, would not allow Jack into hell. He sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack put the coal into a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the Earth with ever since. The Irish began to refer to this ghostly figure as "Jack of the Lantern," and then, simply "Jack O'Lantern."
In Ireland and Scotland, people began to make their own versions of Jack's lanterns by carving scary faces into turnips or potatoes and placing them into windows or near doors to frighten away Stingy Jack and other wandering evil spirits. In England, large beets are used. Immigrants from these countries brought the jack o'lantern tradition with them when they came to the United States. They soon found that pumpkins, a fruit native to America, make perfect jack o'lanterns.

Yahoo To Cut 1,400 Jobs
Yahoo said net profit for the third-quarter of the year was 54 million dollars, or four cents per share, down from 151 million dollars and 11 cents per share during the same period of 2007.
It said revenues were 1.78 billion dollars in the third-quarter, an increase of only one percent over the 1.76 billion dollars in the same period last year.
Yahoo has been losing ground on the Internet to companies such as Google, MySpace and Facebook and the economic slowdown has hurt the firm particularly hard as advertisers cut back on spending.
"An increasingly challenging economic climate and softening advertising demand contributed to revenues this quarter coming in at the low end of our outlook range," said Yahoo chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen.
"While we are disappointed with our results, we're pleased that we continue to benefit from the aggressive cost management efforts we have pursued during the year," he said in a statement.
"We have the balance sheet strength, liquidity, and free cash flow we need to continue to make progress on our core strategies as we address this slowdown," Jorgensen added.
The Sunnyvale, California-based Internet company said it would carry out its second round of layoffs this year in a bid to cut costs.
"Yahoo expects to reduce its global workforce by at least 10 percent during the fourth quarter of 2008," the company said, reducing its annual expenses by some 400 million dollars.
Yahoo, which had 14,300 employees at the end of June, already announced in January that it would be cutting more than 1,000 jobs this year. The announcement Tuesday is for a second round of cuts.
In a bid to reverse its fortunes, Yahoo has rolled out several new products and entered into an advertising tie-up with Google but the deal has yet to receive a green light from US Justice Department anti-trust regulators.
Google chief executive Eric Schmidt said Tuesday that Google and Yahoo had extended their talks with the Department of Justice regulators examining their proposed search advertising deal.
The Department of Justice had been expected to announce on Wednesday whether they would give the green light to the tie-up between Google and Yahoo, respectively number one and number two in the Internet ad market.
Yahoo is hoping to earn hundreds of millions of dollars from the deal with Google in the first year alone.
Yahoo's share price has shed more than 40 percent over the past three months but it gained more than seven percent to 12.58 dollars in after-hours trading on Monday after the cost-cutting moves were announced.
Yahoo's management earlier this year rejected a 33-dollar-a-share takeover bid for the company from US software giant Microsoft, earning the ire of some shareholders.

Social Networking Sites
STRASBOURG, France (AFP) - - Social networking websites were urged Friday to warn users about the low level of protection given to their profiles at a Council of Europe-organised conference on the issue.
The European Union Data Protection Authority (Cnil) said websites like Facebook should inform users that their profiles currently receive only "weak" protection.
It added that website users, especially minors, should be told about the risks they face by going online and given clear instructions on how to change their data protection settings.
The request came at the end of a two-day conference in the French city of Strasbourg during which 70 countries also stressed the need for a universal standard on privacy and personal data protection.
"A standard set of international rules is needed because everyone accepts we cannot go on in the same way," said Alex Turk, president of Cnil.
Organisers are also considering offering financial rewards to countries, institutions and businesses each year that install the best privacy and personal data protection.

All About Love
We've got CDs, tapes and videos, radios and TV shows
Conferences, retreats and seminars
We've got books and magazines to read on everything from A to Z
And a web to surf from anywhere we are
But I hope with all this information buzzing through our brains
That we will not let our hearts forget the most important thing is
Love love love love love ...it's all about
Love love love love love
Everything else comes down to this
Nothing any higher on the list than love
It's all about love
Now they're fighting in the Middle East and they're fighting down on 7th street
And there are fights in my own house on given days
It's like something's lurking deep inside that can't seem to be satisfied
But life was not meant to be lived this way
'Cause it's true for every man and woman, every boy and girl
That our only hope for living here together in this world is ...
Love love love love love ...it's all about
Love love love love love
Everything else comes down to this
Nothing any higher on the list than love
This is the reason we were made
To know the love of our creator
And to give the love He's given us away
Yeah, the Maker and the Father and the God of everything
He says to ...
Love love love ... He says love love love
Love love love ... 'cause after all it's all about love
God says ...
Love love love love love ...it's all about
Love love love love love
Everything else comes down to this
Nothing any higher on the list than love
'cause after all it's all about love

Friendship is always a form of love
Endurance means to accept others' wrongdoing as thoughtlessness or miscomprehension, without blaming it on antipathy or cruelty, believing that it does not come from the core of their personality but from its surface. The core cannot be seen. Only the traffic through the surface can be experienced and accessed. What happens underneath one can only believe in.
To be friends means to love. To love means to endure. To endure means to believe in the other.
To be friends also means knowing the threshold of endurance, and to abandon the other when it is crossed.
To love from the heart means to put the threshold as high as humanly possible.
No human being can love perfectly. Only a being who cannot take any damage and who cannot feel any pain can.

Ironically speaking
Ironically speaking, life has no direction since then. T'was you who made a puzzle and t'was you who made yourself cry. Yet, thou things may happen because of you, there's no reason 2 blame yourself because you'll always be the reason why you can smile despite a wounded soul.
Just know when to choose and react, talk and debate, smile and frown, lastly know the right person who can help you make life best puzzle life could have.

Did You Know These Facts? I Sure Didn't Till Now
Very interesting, read until the end.....It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):
'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap.
Here are some men and women who mocked God :
John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
'Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.
Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.
Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:'God, that's for you.'
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.
The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said:
'Not even God can sink it'
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic
Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
'I don't need your Jesus'.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment
Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'.
On the 19th of February 1980 , Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.
Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend.....The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.'
She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full '
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken
Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)
Said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.
Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.
Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

First Test of Chrome, Google's New Browser
Google Chrome is an open source web browser developed by Google. It builds on components from other open source software, including WebKit and Mozilla. The name is derived from the graphical user interface frame, or "chrome", of web browsers. The open source project behind Google Chrome is known as Chromium.
A beta version for Microsoft Windows was released on 2 September 2008 in 43 languages. Mac OS X and Linux versions are under development and will follow the Windows version.
Aimed at wresting dominance of the browser market from Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. The move takes the Google-Microsoft rivalry to a whole new level. If Google succeeds, it will be a big deal, with major ramifications for the future of the Web.

Love Covers Over All Wrongs
Eloquently put, love seals the deal. It never ever fails, not in the long run. It wins each time because it is enshrined in God's holiest wisdom and truth; counter-the-world, love responds as no one can really understand who don't know God.
The twelfth verse of Proverbs 10 contrasts love and hatred. Love is more powerful than fear, and so it stands to reason it is more powerful than hatred, greed, envy, and every other worldly evil.
The way this proverb reads in the original language is stark. It gives the imagery of love healing like a bandage would over a cut limb. It not only settles the issue down, stemming the flow of blood from a wound, it also promotes healing... so too does love invite healing to occur when injected into relational situations.
But how rarely it occurs is disappointing. The most pious of us will fail to love most of the time, yet its timeless truth rages out -- learn of me, it commands, all through the Scriptures.
I remember writing about Selwyn's Hughes' definition of love: you're hurt by someone and yet you look back at them with the hurt in your eyes, but without any shred of rejection. Love never condemns. Any time we judge and condemn we've failed to love. Hughes described this state of being hurt but not rejecting the other person as the 'look of Jesus.'
Think about this. Most of us judge and condemn all the time; in little ways I mean. Out on the road, or at a sports game. It's our carnal way to judge and condemn people.
I've written of complaint. To complain is a failure to love. To choose love over the option to complain or condemn a person uses the power of God that anyone can tap into. Love covers over all wrongs and propounds the truth of "two wrongs don't make a right." But a 'right' can correct a 'wrong.'
Think about it next time you're tempted to whinge about something or condemn someone; no matter how bad it is, you don't need to do it. You can use the power of your mind to love instead. All it takes is awareness and will.

Affection
Give love and take love. Make yourself comfy with your partner, don't just take the love but give love in return, loving and being loved is a wonderful feeling of completeness. Start yourself doing things to make the foundation of your love come into success with your partner. Remember the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.
"hold me in your arms and never let me go, I want to spend my whole life with you" this are the parting words everyone is longing to hear. We can say we can be overjoyed and heartily crying in tears with gladness.
When you love someone, you pick up the little things and magically turn them into something special. This is what acceptance is all about. But don't just love in words and in tongue but with actions and in truth.

Why do we love ba?
someone who can be der pag gus2 natin gumala?
a person na pwedeng manlibre satin?
magbigay ng load pag 0 balance ka?
taong magbibitbit ng gamit mo?
alalay for short!
eh panu kung di ka nya mahal
would u still love him/her?
would you still continue 2 care 4 dat person?
bakit naman endeeee?
u didnt love dat person para magkaroon ka ng alalay,
magkaroon ka ng instant load & meal dahil libre,
taong gagawa ng assignments mo or projects,
or taong mahihila mo if u want to go out...
if dats wat u think about love well sori ang babaw mo,
loving a person doesnt nid 2 hav a criteria
na dapat maganda o guwapo,
dapat mabait or understanding,
kc once u fall inlove u take the risk of accepting dat person
and ung napaka-arte OA kung baga!
o kahit anu png things
dat would turn u off...
hirap tlaga magmahal trying 2 be perfect kc gus2 mong magtagal
pero endi un ang sagot sa lahat...
ACCEPTING da real person fully
kc if u said na mahal mo sya u dont nid 2find
answers kung y mo sya love...
kc lahat ng tao nagbabago but if u accept dat person
magbago man sya in da middle of ur relationship
endi ka masasaktan kc u know dat darating din un..
tsaka tanggap mo sya ng buo...
mahirap gawin pero masarap subukan dahil
wala ng sasaya pa if u let one person feel na
MAHAL NA MAHAL mo sya without asking 4 any return...
den u can say wow un pla ang....
LOVE!

Whatever we are waiting for - peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance - it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.

What makes you different
Beautifully made by the creator...Thanks for the video...luv yha...it means a lot to me...
What Makes You Different (Makes You Beautiful)
by BackStreet Boys
You don't run with crowd You go your own way
You don't play after dark You light up my day
Got your own kind of style That set you apart
Baby that's why you captured my heart
I know sometimes you feel Like you don't fit in
And this world doesn't know What you have within
When I look at you I see something rare
A rose that can grow anywhere
And there's no one I know that can compare
What makes you different Makes you beautiful
What's there inside you shines through to me
In your eyes I see all the love I'll ever need
What makes you different Makes you beautiful to me
You got something so real You touched me so deep
You see material things Don't matter to me
So come as you are You've got nothing to prove
You won me with all that you do
And I wanna take this chance to say to you
What makes you different Makes you beautiful
What's there inside you shines through to me
In your eyes I see all the love I'll ever need
What makes you different Makes you beautiful to me
You don't know how you touch my life
Oh in so many ways I just can't describe
You taught me what love is supposed to be
It's all the little things that make you beautiful to me
(So beautiful)
What makes you, what makes you different Makes you beautiful
What's there inside you shines through to me
In your eyes I see all the love I'll ever need
What makes you different Makes you beautiful to me

May 7 Birthday Astrology
Friends and Lovers
People born on this day love selflessly, often sacrificially. They have no ego issues within the boundaries of a relationship, whether it is with a friend or a romantic partner. May 7 individuals cannot settle for an "ordinary" love -- they need to find a soul mate.
Children and Family
The relationship between May 7 people and their family members is complicated. There often is some form of estrangement between the individual and a parent or authority figure, making it difficult to retain a close familial relationship in later years. They have a natural affinity for parenthood, though. They have the ability to inspire a child's creative instincts.
Health
The sensitive nature of May 7 people can negatively affect their health if they do not take a strong interest in remaining fit. Vigorous daily exercise is the best way to expel the stress so prevalent in their lives.
Career and Finances
May 7 people often find themselves drawn to a career by abstract circumstances rather than by deliberate selection. They need more than a career -- they need a calling. No amount of money can substitute for the satisfaction these individuals require in their life's work. When it comes to managing money, they have a surprising flair sparked by their other creative energies.
Dreams and Goals
May 7 individuals tend to keep their hopes and dreams to themselves. Generally, they wish to make a success of their important relationships and maintain the clarity of their creative inspiration. They judge the success or failure of a venture in a purely subjective way. If it reinforces their dreams, they are content. These individuals have little regard for the financial ramifications of their endeavors.

The Duel
CRIES wont be tears if your not hurt
SADNESS wont mean anything unless your down
ANGER will be nothing if apology comes right after
SMILES means nothing if it comes from the unkown
A TOUCH never says it cares unless you think so
There are lots of things in life that have different meaning of its own, so if you feel like having a duel with life...
Fight not because you are brave.....
But because your coward who wanted to prove something...
